Girl's dilemma
 I never knew anything about the hymen until I started reading here and from other related sources. I have never done sex and have never used tampons or had a pelvic exam. I have been very active like cheerleading, gynastics and may have injured or destroyed my hymen. I an hoping to meet a considerate virgin fellow and i may just have to trust him to believe me when I tell him without the physical proof. I do not want him to have any doubt and I could never think of faking pain or bleeding. I am not from any Aian or African nation but have very traditional American and Christian values. I have made an examination with a mirrtor but did not know what normal apperance should be.

That link shows you an idea of the most commonly found variations of a hymen, as they are some fairly drastic differences between each woman. It's certainly not uncommon (I can think of 6 of my personal female friends) to break your hymen simply my physical force. For example, one of them was standing on a counter getting a glass out of a cabinet, and fell. She caught the edge of the counter between her legs and broke her hymen. Another one was simply wrestling/goofing around when it happened.
P.S. If you're in a scenario where you're with a guy and proof that you're a virgin comes in to question, you may want to rethink that situation. You have trust a guy when he says he's a virgin in any instance, so he has no room to be hypocritical.

I would be willing to take a chance that you are telling the truth about your virginity. I can't see any reason why, in our society today, that a woman who wants sex would claim she's a virgin. So I'm guessing you are the real deal.
