Custody of a Child

Custody of a child is a very important thing that you should research deeply and carefully. I think it is important that if the divorce is uncontested and you and your spouse can't settle your differences and its leading you to divorce that you seriously consider joint custody. It is much better for the child to have both the Mother and the Father in their lives equally.

If your divorce is based off abusive actions or drug/alcohol addiction that is a different story.

Do a lot of research!

Great advice

I agree with all of this advice. People become so involved when a divorce occurs that they tend t disregard the things that are most important: the children. Joint custody is the best way to provide children with a clear outlook on the situation. They will clearly understand that their parents live in two different places, living different lives now, but still share a deep love for them. Also, if one of the parents begins to date someone new, the younger children will probably not experience as much confusion. Keeping one parent out of the children's livesis a sure path to causing psychological issues for them in the future, possibly the rest of their lives.
