Hello,

Im new to this forum, Im seeking some good advice from you guys.

I want to bring my Russian girlfriend from St Petersburg to UK to live with me. Can you please advise me on the easiest and most cost effective way to do this.

- What I need to do
- What is the current law
- What is the cost
- Whos do I need to contact
- How long does it take etc...

She speaks English fluently and has a degree in English, she also studied in UK for one year.

Im aware that the government policy will change soon.

Please help.

Kind Regards,

Get an Immigration Attorney

If your girlfriend is moving from St. Petersberg, you guys will really gain a lot from getting an immigration attorney. You can also find Do It Yourself fiance Visa kits online which will include all of the paperwork and instructions you will need, but an actual immigration attorney would be able to answer questions that pop up as you go along, which a DIY kit would not be able to. Searching online for answers when it comes to law and divorce is not always the best idea. Coming on a forum like this to find direction towards quality information IS a good idea. I would suggest taking the most thorough approach you can to this situation so that you do not have to deal with probelms later on in the future.

I don't know the differences (if there are any) between the UK immigration laws and the US ones, but it seems like you would probably benefit from the fiance visa process.

use a pro

Yeah this kind of process involves a lot of random things you might overlook if you try and do everything on your own. There are a ton of companies that will guide you through the process and even give you a kit that has everything you need. It's like getting a divorce in that you will have success if you find a professional to help you.

K-1 Visa Attorney for the UK

Here is a US attorney who handles immigration issues, and maybe will for the UK. Immigration Attorney. At least it is a lead to go on. Or maybe just search Google for UK attorney.
